
The LRC will contain a new library facility over two floors with a total capacity of approximately 75,000 books and will give the College an expansion capacity of at least 10 years. It will also provide temperature controlled storage for antiquarian books in addition to study and reading areas. A pre-planning application public engagement exhibition will be held on Thursday, 23rd February 2012 and Saturday, 25th February 2012 at St John's College in Bramcote and details of the proposals and exhibition material can be viewed here.
The proposals will be the subject of a Planning Application in due course which, it is anticipated, will be submitted to Broxtowe Borough Council in late March, 2012.

Hardstaffs Group, which has become a world leader in the development and application of dual-fuel (diesel/LNG) technology to (heavy) goods and public service vehicles, is proposing to redevelop its existing main operating complex at Kingston-on-Soar into a Centre of Excellence of international importance. The proposed new facility will include: Research and Development facilities, both for the Hardstaffs own dual-fuel technology and for complementary / related / spin-off technologies, business, academic and research institutions; Vehicle Conversion and Vehicle Conversion Training; a Training, Meeting and Conference venue; and, residential accommodation for trainees and visiting executives. The development, which will also include on-site renewable energy generation and ancillary car parking, will be laid out as a high technology campus with high quality sustainable buildings and landscaping and enhanced biodiversity. To facilitate the development, certain existing operations, including Hardstaffs' long-established haulage business, are to be relocated away from the Kingston-on-Soar site.
